The genetic effects of Glu-D1d and Wx-B1b genes are the main genetic basis for strong gluten wheat with good bread and noodle end-use quality. Wheat protein(gluten) quality and starch properties can be improved synchronously by gene pyramiding, and processing purposes and goods value of strong gluten wheat can be significantly broadened and improved. In this paper, the effects of Glu-D1d and Wx-B1b genes and their pyramiding effect on the quality of strong gluten wheat were summarized, and the breeding strategies and precautions of the two genes were discussed, which provided a theoretical basis and breeding experience for strong gluten wheat breeding for both bread and noodle making. |
