To clarify the effects of foliar application of sodium selenate on concentration of total selenium(Se) and other mineral elements in grains of different wheat varieties(lines),four treatments, such as 0 mg·kg-1 (CK),100 mg·kg-1(Se10),200 mg·kg-1(Se20) and 300 mg·kg-1(Se30),were sprayed uniformly on the leaves of 114 wheat varieties(lines). The concentrations of Se,Ca,Mg,Cu,Fe,Mn,Zn and S were measured using ICP(Inductively Couple Plasma) method. The results indicate that sodium selenate application significantly increased Se concentration in grains of wheat, but the increase rate varied among varieties(lines). The average total Se concentration under four treatments was 1.54,5.70,10.01 and 13.10 mg·kg-1,respectively. The other mineral elements responded either synergistically or antagonistically to selenate application, depending on mineral type, wheat genotypes and Se dosage. In general, sodium selenate decreased the concentrations of Ca,Mg,Cu,Fe,Mn and S,but increased Zn concentration in grains. |
