A high-throughput phenotyping software SmartGrain was used for measuring grain traits of a NaN3 mutagenized population (M3) of a new wheat variety Shaannong 33. Meanwhile, correlation analysis, path analysis, principal components analysis were conducted to discuss the relationships among grain traits. The variation coefficient of grain characters in mutagenized population was ranked as,from large to small,1 000-grain weight, factor form density, grain area,length-to-width ratio, width, circularity, perimeter length, and grain length. Compared with Shaannong 33,the mean value of grain traits in mutagenized population tended to decrease at different levels except length-to-width ratio. Correlation analysis showed that 1 000-grian weight has an extremely significantly positive correlation with grain area, perimeter length, length, width, circularity and factor form density, but has an extremely significantly negative correlation with length-to-width ratio. Path analysis showed that the bigest direct contribution to 1 000-grian weight was factor form density among seven grain traits, which followed by width, grain area, perimeter length,length-to-width ratio, circularity and length, but factor form density, width and grain area had the biggest direct positive effects on 1 000-grian weight . The result of principle components analysis showed that two principal components (grain size and grain shape) of the cumulative contribution rate reached 94.10%,and the mainly variational information of all grain traits in the mutagenized population have been covered. |
