In order to probe into the molecular mechanisms for flour color of China wheat,functional markers of YP7A,YP7A 2,YP7B 1,YP7B 2,YP7B 3,YP7B 4,YP7D 1 and YP7D 2 were used to identify allelic variations of Psy 1 genes,and their associations with yellow pigment content were analyzed in 62 spring wheat cultivars from Gansu.Two alleles Psy A1a and Psy A1b were observed at Psy A1 locus and their percentages were 64.52% and 35.48%,respectively.Four alleles Psy B1a,Psy B1b,Psy B1c and Psy B1d were found at Psy B1 locus and their percentages were 54.84%,38.71%,4.84% and 1.61%,respectively.All cultivars possessed Psy D1a allele at Psy D1 locus except for Moyin 1.Furthermore,seven allelic combinations of Psy 1 genes were identified in wheat cultivars surveyed,i.e., Psy A1a/Psy B1a/Psy D1a, Psy A1a/Psy B1b/Psy D1a,Psy A1b/ Psy B1a/Psy D1a,Psy A1b/Psy B1b/Psy D1a, Psy A1a/Psy B1c/Psy D1a, Psy A1a/Psy B1d/Psy D1a and Psy A1b/Psy B1c/Psy D1a, and their percentages were 33.87%,25.81%,20.97%,12.90%,3.23%,1.61% and 1.61%,respectively.Analysis of association of Psy 1 allelic variations with yellow pigment content indicated that wheat cultivars with Psy A1a/Psy B1c/Psy D1a possessed significantly higher yellow pigment content,whereas wheat cultivars with Psy A1b/Psy B1b/Psy D1a possessed significantly lower yellow pigment content among the seven Psy 1 allelic combinations.These results could provide useful information for the improvement of flour color in Chinese spring wheat. |
