The effectiveness of main resistance genes for leaf rust in Chinese wheat under current circumstances was evaluated in this paper. Combining with proper resistance gene(s), such as Lr13 or Lr34, the residual resistance of Lr1, Lr3, Lr3bg, Lr10, Lr11, Lr14a, Lr16 and Lr26 could be expressed, although these genes hardly had any utilizable value while they were employed alone. As typical vertical resistance genes, Lr9, Lr19, Lr24 and Lr38 should be cautiously applied. Interacting with specific virulence pathotype, Lr13, a slow rust gene, and Lr23, an immune gene, would all lose theirs resistance. It suggests that Lr12, Lr13, Lr23, Lr34, Lr35 and other adult plant resistance genes, some unknown genes, and horizontal resistance genes probably play the leading role on the counteraction of wheat leaf rust. |
